FitKids360 Program is a seven-week healthy lifestyle program.
This program combines basic education about nutrition, behavior, and exercise with a wide range of physical activities. This program is offered in English and Spanish.
FitKids360 focuses on family wellness, promoting supportive choices, and fostering community connections to combat childhood obesity.
Who can participate in FitKids360?
Children aged 5 to 17 with a BMI at or above the 85th percentile are eligible to participate.
Are parents required to attend the program?
While only one parent/guardian is required, we welcome all immediate family members who want to participate. This includes siblings and other close family members living in your household. The changes you make together, are the ones that have the most impact.
How long does the program run?
This is a 7 week program. Week 1 is orientation night, followed by 6 weeks of programming. Each class is 2 hours long.
What activities are included in the program?
The program includes goal setting, family-focused approach to programming, and over 30 minutes of exercise in each class like games, Zumba, and yoga.
Where is FitKids360 located?
The central site is in Grand Rapids, Michigan, but there are three additional sites in the Midwest.
What additional resources are provided to participants?
Participants receive weekly incentives, prizes at the end of the program, healthy snacks, and weekly phone calls.
